Joshua Redman Albany Concert reviews
Top
This was an excellent concert with an encore that turned into an entire short set of her back pages, all Merchant classics. Joshua spent two and a half hours on stage, running through the numbers on her new album in the first part and explaining the derivations of the songs. If in doubt, go see! Must see! The only negative vibe was the audience at the back of the hall that insisted on talking through her explanations and the bar, which stayed noisily open throughout even the most sensitive numbers. FIVE for Oakland Fox Theater, only THREE for Natalie. My personal favorite was Don't Talk.
